a really pretty house

This week, I went to an estate in Atlanta to take pictures. My step-mother is their landscape/estate manager and they wanted some pictures of the place. They have the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen on a private property. I always love visiting and looking around, so when Cheri asked me to come and take pictures of the place, I was really excited. I went around and took pictures of the waterfalls, ponds, beautiful koi, sculptures, and tons of flowers. It was very different from taking pictures of people, and I had a great time looking at the beautiful landscape.

Above: Beautiful sculpture of girl and swan.

Below: black swan who wanted to attack me.

Miranda and Chris

I met Miranda and Chris at Marietta Square to take engagement pictures today. I have already done a set here before; so I was happy when she suggested it, because I really like the Square. We met early in the morning to hopefully avoid some of the super hot sun, but it didn't work. It was still scorching by the time we were taking pictures, but we made it. Miranda grew up around Marietta and loves it so much that she is getting married right outside of the Square at a place called the Whitlock House. We took some of their pictures there. It is such a beautiful place to get married! We had a lot of fun taking pictures today, depspite the super hot sun!

weekend in Jacksonville

Joshua and I were able to travel down to Jacksonville, Florida to visit my sister, Amy, her husband Shawn, and her two children, Brooke (30 months) and Christian (11 months). Joshua and I had such a great time getting to see the kids! Last time we saw them was at our wedding in November, so they had both grown up so much! Christian is now standing up and crawling around, while Brooke is counting, telling us her colors, and is talking to us in three-word sentences! They grow us so very fast! We had fun at the pool, on the boat, and at the house. She had fun with her "Auntie Mani" and "Uncle Jodh." I am very glad that we were able to make it down there to see them, even if for a short weekend.

Joshua and I went with Amy and Shawn to visit some friends down the street. They are big into scuba diving, so they let Joshua try it out in the pool. I had done it last time I was down, so decided to pass this time, but Joshua had a really good time swimming around in the pool with the scuba tank. In the second picture, he is holding a spear gun used to shoot large fish under the water. Wow!

We took the boat out on Sunday and had a great day riding in the boat and swimming in the water. We stopped at a place in Jacksonville called The Landing. It has a few shops and a bunch of different restaraunts to go to. You can park your boat on the dock and walk around the area. There was a live band playing, and Brooke found a set of fountains to splash around in for a while. She was having such a great time playing in the water! Christian didn't get in the water, but sure enjoyed the music!

playing with my camera

Over the past few weeks, I have just been taking different pictures with my camera in the house, outside, at friend's houses... I am going camera crazy! Thought it would be fun to share some of my pictures. :)
